Research Assistant in the Department of Applied Social Sciences (Appointment for 10 months) [Ref. C/R/126/09]


Project

Evaluating the Effectiveness of a Mindfulness Approach in Relapse Prevention for Young Psychotropic Substance Abusers in Hong Kong: A Randomized Control Trial

Duties

Assist in the design and research work for the Project.  Main duties include conducting literature review, data collection and data analysis, report preparation; and performing any other assignments.

Requirements

A good honours degree in Social Work/Psychology/Criminology or related social sciences disciplines.  Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (preferably in Cantonese); familiarity with research methods; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and statistical analysis with SPSS; good analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work responsibly and independently are required.  Knowledge of using NVivo is preferred.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
